Goofingoff

Going back to school while working full time left me little time to create artwork so I did what I do well, inspire others to create. Finding quality Judaic fabric is difficult so I provide Judaic fat quarters for those who sew. Other things found in my shop include modern and vintage sewing patterns and vintage items that touch the heart. When it comes to vintage, most items are once-in-a-lifetime-deals. Someone might make a replica but they won't make the original again. Here's a few of my finds:

Vintage Angel Salt and Pepper Shakers

Vintage Sewing Pattern Simplicity 1087 - 1950's Rockabilly Skirt Uncut and Complete

Inner Faith by Robert Kaufman Judaic Fat Quarters Fabric

Check out my ship, GoofingOff.etsy.com during Team EtsyChai's Miracle of Hanukkah sale. Everything in the shop is 10% off and the discounts are already marked so you can get started goofing off, too.

Stacy's creative talents were nutured by her grandparents, inspiring her from an early age who taught her to knit and crochet. Stacy still crochets; the crocheted scarves in her shop are beautiful to look at and warm to wear. I just love the colors and the patterns. Here's a few:

Earth Tones Pippy Skinny Scarf

Lovely! The scarves look snuggly warm, just right for winter. Be sure to check out SewStacy during Team EtsyChai's Miracles of Hanukkah Sale. Stacy's offering free shipping on all purchases of two items or more. And don't forget the secret word....it's "Candles," that is unless you are from Jewish Woman Magazine, then it's JW Mag.

norunningwithscissor:

A love of history and Judaism provides Debbie with the inspiration she needs for her mixed media art. Her love is reflected in the use of illuminated manuscripts and kettubot along with vintage Israeli stamps and advertisements. Her ties to Israel are strong and her artwork represents that bond well.

Kippah Box
Debbie says she designed the Kippah Box after raising 2 boys whose kippot would magically disappear in the morning before school.
This Kippah Box is painted in blue acrylic paints decorated with highly colorful Israeli stamps with a collaged torah on the lid and glazed as a finishing touch. Completed with a magnetic closure.
Great solution!

Three Star Hamsa was created from a collage of illuminated manuscripts from Debbie's extensive digital collection and vintage Israeli stamps from her treasured personal stash. The images of children and Israeli life in stamps, early Israeli posters and vintage records are vibrant and colorful and stand out in the dark background.
The title comes from the 3 stars that come out at night signifying the start of a new day.

Hamsa is painted a dark midnight blue/purple and collaged upon. 3 gold stars were added with swarovski crystals in the center. Glazed to perfection.

Beloved

This is my very favorite. "Beloved" is a mixed media collage on canvas with little copies of kettubot (marriage contracts). It symbolizes the blessings given under the chuppah that the bride and groom should be worthy to build a home built upon the foundation of love and Torah values.

Check out NoRunningwithScissor during Team EtsyChai's Miracles of Hanukkah sale. Debbie is offering a Free gift with purchase during Team EtsyChai's Miracles of Hanukkah Sale going on now until November 23. Wonderful artwork, great deal. Can't do much better than that.

MishMishmarket:

Susie Lubell of MishMishmarket says she "studied just about everything except painting." She didn't need to study painting as far as I am concerned. Her style is wonderful. Her work is beautiful, unique, and whimsical, and her style her own. The colors are vivid and the pictures bring a smile to all those who see them.

Susie works in watercolors and her prints have the feel of the original watercolor through her unique printing process. Her is some of her work:

Abundance Ketubah

Little Village Watercolor Print and Verse

Little Bird Watercolor The best thing about her children's watercolors is they can be personalized in English or Hebrew. Talk about a perfect gift for a naming.

Check out Susie's shop, MishMishMarket.etsy.com and see the rest of her work. During Team EtsyChai's Miracles of Hanukkah sale Susie is giving 20% off purchases over $20. Don't forget the secret word, though. Remember, it's Candles, or JW mag if you got here from the magazine....Tell her GoofingOff sent you.
