For 2011, Holocaust Remembrance Day is observed on May 2. Tonight, millions of Jews will light memorial candles (many provided by the Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs) in memory of the 6 million Jews who lost their lives in World War II.
The Hebrew date, the 27th of Nisan, corresponds to the anniversary of Warsaw Ghetto Uprising (April 19 - May 16, 1943) when Jews organized against their Nazi oppressors.
The US has proclaimed May 1-May 8, 2011 as National Days of Remembrance and the US Holocaust Memorial Museum along with national synagogues will have memorial services. See more about the museum.
I am grateful to those who fought against the Nazis, secretly hid Jews and helped them to escape from Germany.
I am proud of my heritage and to be a team member of artisans who create handmade Judaica for you and your home.

Eileen said it all. Thank you!
Thank you for remembering here
Very nice tribute. Attended a service at our Temple last night and was pleased to see so many community people there.

Yesterday I took one of my girls to a service where we also saw a play: "Voices of Terezin". To connect it back here, I will quote from the handout: "The play, said it's director, Raina Ames, illustrates how the arts can make a difference, not only to inspire but also to testify for those whose voices were silenced." It was very interesting and moving.
Great tribute
Thanks
